Jeff Sutliff to Join Saint Joseph Academy as New Principal

The Carmon Group continues to grow our service niche in the non-profit and academic fields. The principal search for Saint Joseph Academy represents the fourth successful search in this space in the last two years. This project truly embodies our commitment to organizations whose focus is the education and development of the youth in our region. Suffice it to say, we have a high level of gratitude that the board selected us as their search partner and are honored to be a part of supporting the school’s mission and ongoing success.

Saint Joseph Academy in Cleveland, Ohio retained The Carmon Group to facilitate a retained search for a new Principal for their school. The Carmon Group is pleased to announce that as a result of these efforts, Jeff Sutliff has joined Saint Joseph Academy as Principal. He will be assuming these duties effective July 1st of this year. Jeff is an accomplished career educator with a history of success as both an administrator and teacher. During the selection process, the search committee was impressed with his academic credentials and his dedication to Catholic education.

Jeff is currently the Assistant Principal for Academics at Saint Martin de Porres High School, leading a teaching staff of 28 teachers serving a student body of 466 students. Prior to assuming that role in 2007, he was Assistant Principal/Dean of Students at St. Martin de Porres. He also has been a social studies teacher at the Cleveland School of Arts in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and at Cleveland Central Catholic High School. He has a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master’s degree in History from John Carroll University. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame in 1993.

His wife, Elizabeth, is a 1990 Saint Joseph Academy graduate. The oldest of their four children, Maya, will be entering SJA as part of the class of 2017 in the fall. Jeff’s mother-in-law, Joan, is a class of ’55 alum.
